Our veterinary practice has been looking after pets for over 20 years and now, following a recent expansion, we are looking for more people to join us at our clinic located in beautiful Port Stephens in New South Wales, Australia.
We are a friendly and compassionate team who love what we do and the amazing area we service. We like to maintain a welcoming atmosphere in the clinic and you’ll find we embrace our clients and our team as though they are family.

We are located in Salamander Bay, which is one of the stunning areas within the Port Stephens region known for its pristine beaches, water activities, and mountain top views.
Here, we enjoy a nature-filled lifestyle both in and out of the clear blue waters. With a resident population of over 160 bottlenose dolphins, whales that pass on their migration and a marine park, you’ll also discover endless water activities including first-class snorkelling and diving, sailing and cruising, jet-skiing, windsurfing, parasailing, surfing, deep-sea fishing and more.
If you prefer to stay dry, there’s spectacular bushwalking and wildflowers, 4WD sand dune tours, sand boarding and tobogganing, horse and camel riding and go-karting. Golf enthusiasts will find two championship courses at Horizons Golf Resort and Nelson Bay Golf Club.
For a weekend in the city, all the attractions of Sydney are just an easy car ride or bus trip away.
Salamander Bay Veterinary Clinic is an accredited sponsor and welcomes veterinarians from all over the world. We offer a four-day work week with no after-hours. A generous remuneration package includes one week paid conference leave with conference fees paid.
Veterinarians from the UK, Ireland, New Zealand and South Africa are all directly registerable to work in NSW.
Veterinarians from USA, Canada, West Indies, France, Mexico, the Netherlands and South Korea are registerable after passing the NAVLE exam.
Veterinarians from other countries may need to complete the AVE (Australian Veterinary Exam Certificate) and an English proficiency exam.
